Vera Louise Bernhagen

Vera Louise Bernhagen 73, of Ellendale passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2023 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo. Louise was born to Elvira (Bernhagen) Keller on May 29, 1949. She was educated in Ellendale, ND. She resided in Jamestown, ND where she worked for Alpha one.  Throughout her life she was a caring daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. Louise will always be remembered for her belly laugh, love of music (especially Elvis and “Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini”). She loved to tell jokes and sing many songs and hymns. She enjoyed Bible readings, devotions, and sharing special times with her siblings. Louise always enjoyed visits and communion with the Pastor. Louise was blessed to be part of a large and loving family. She is survived by siblings: Elvira Henderson (Roger) Mounds View, MN; William Bernhagen, Sheridan, WY; Eric Bernhagen (Rosalie) Vandalia, IL; Susan Dempsey (Bob), Williston, ND; sister-in-law Nancy Bernhagen, Rapid City, SD; and Sandy Bernhagen, Billings, MT. She was preceded in death by her mother Elvira Keller; stepfather, Leo Keller; brothers, Alan Bernhagen and Robert Bernhagen and her great niece Hart-Lynn Bernhagen. She was loved by all who knew her and in her passing, will be sincerely and deeply missed. Vocalists: Monica Schmidt and Jordan Bernhagen. Urn Bearers: William Bernhagen and Eric Bernhagen.

A memorial service will be 4pm Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale with Pastor Paul Preus officiating. There will be a private burial in the spring 2023 at Ellendale City Cemetery.
