Mark A. Dathe

Mark Allen Dathe, 56, of Texas, formerly of Ellendale, ND died August 6, 2021. Mark was the son of Calvin and Rita (Caron) Dathe, born September 30, 1964. He graduated from Ellendale High School in 1982 and attended college at ND State School of Science with an Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Mechanics in 1984. Mark was united in marriage to Raulina Augusto de Lima on June 28, 1989 at Houston, TX. They made their home in the Houston area while Mark worked for Western Geophysical an Oil Industry Company and then, Crown Cork and Seal Company Inc. Upon retiring, he started his energy consulting business with Ambit Energy and health supplements with UR Worth It. Mark greatly enjoyed making delicious smoked brisket and BBQ for his family and friends, fishing and hunting along with backyard pool time with everyone. Mark loved spending time with all family and friends may it be in Texas, North Dakota and also many family and friends in Brazil. Most memorable is Mark’s dedication and willingness to help anyone in need; or maybe just a smile to make them feel their best. Mark was a member on the board of directors for Work Life Institute of Houston, TX. Also, spent many volunteer hours with Veterans’ organizations including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Foundation of America, Camp Hope Veterans counseling center and “Just us Guys” at Michael DeBakey Hospital. Mark was most passionate about his family, especially wife Raulina, daughter Gabrielle, son Lucas and granddaughter Delilah. Grateful for having shared in Mark’s life are his mother Rita; brother Loren (Anita) Dathe of Ossian, IN, sister Gail of Jamestown, ND and brother Gary (Kristina) Dathe of Ellendale, ND; along with several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews from all over the world. Mark was preceded in death by his father Calvin. A memorial service will be held in Texas at a future date. There will be a memorial service at 11am Saturday, August 14 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale with Pastor Paul Preus officiating and lunch following. A prayer service will be 6pm Friday, August 13 at Hoven Funeral Chapel. Burial and a full obituary will be at a later date. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel.
