Eva Mittleider

Eva Mittleider 83, of Ellendale, ND died June 29, 2023 at Benedictine Living Community, Ellendale. The funeral is 10:30am Thursday, July 6, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Ellendale with Pastor Glenn Raynor officiating. Visitation is 3-5:30pm with a prayer service at 5:30pm on July 5th at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Eva was born December 22, 1939 to Byron and Rosella (Knox) Watson at home in Dickey County, ND. Eva was raised in the Aberdeen, SD and Ellendale areas and educated in Ellendale. On May 20, 1955 Eva married Arvid Mittleider at First Baptist Church, Ellendale. In 1968, Eva and Arvid purchased their home where they raised their children. Eva worked alongside Arvid as they farmed and raised livestock. Eva also worked 45 plus years as a CNA for the Ellendale and Oakes Hospitals and later the nursing home. Eva retired in 2009. Eva was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellendale which she enjoyed attending. She was faithful about reading the Bible and knew Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Eva enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren at their sporting events. She also enjoyed her time fishing and clam digging in Washington as well as baking and sewing. Eva is survived by her children: Casildra (Dennis) Kummer, Westport, WA, Ferell (Virgil) Otterstetter, Aberdeen, WA, Wonada (Daryl) Lematta, Ellendale, ND, Robin (Dean) Geffre, Leola, SD, daughter-in-law: (Danielle) Mittleider, Montesano, WA, Garrett (Amy) Mittleider, Ellendale, ND; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arvid on February 5, 2018, one son Chadwick; one grandson Seth Larson; two sisters and two brothers and one step-brother.
