Emma Klipfel

Emma Klipfel 93 of Ellendale, ND died August 31, 2023 at Benedictine Living Community, Ellendale, ND. Emma was born January 30, 1930 to John and Christina (Mertz) Schock in McIntosh County, ND. She graduated from Kulm High School. On October 22, 1950 Emma married Paul G. Klipfel in Kulm, ND. They farmed and resided in the Merricourt area until they retired in 1990. In 1975 Emma and Paul began wintering in Mission, TX. For the next 38 years Emma enjoyed many different activities including: crafts, aquatics, dancing and social gatherings. Emma was fun loving and spread a lot of joy to all those around her. Following Paul’s death in 2013, Emma moved to an apartment in Ellendale. In January 2022 she moved into Benedictine Living Community where she resided until her death. Emma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale and active with the LWML. Grateful to have shared in her life are her children: Paula (Loren) Hofer, Brent (Shauna) Klipfel; grandchildren: Alexander Engel, Andrew Engel, Elijah Hofer, Sasha (Scott) Dalgliesh, Jordan Klipfel; great grandchildren: Miranda Beach, Hanna Beach, Samuel Dalgliesh, Piper Klipfel, Kimberly Klipfel, great-great grandchild: Veda Tarno; sister: Violet Moncur. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Enoch and Rueben Schock; sisters: Esther, Ida, Ruth, Ella; six sisters-in-law and nine brothers-in-law.
