Elsie Vera Krause

Elsie Vera (Schick) Krause, 91, of Ellendale, ND went to her heavenly home Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Sanford Health, Aberdeen, SD. Elsie was born October 10, 1925 in Bowdle, SD. She was the daughter of Jacob & Margretta (Kinzle) Schick. She attended and graduated from Bowdle High School in 1943. She then worked at McKeever Press in Aberdeen, SD. On December 7, 1946, Elsie married William “Bill” Krause of Ellendale. They farmed in Kentner Township near Ellendale until 1973 when they moved into Ellendale where Elsie resided until her death. Elsie was a member of First Baptist Church, Ellendale also serving on the deaconess board, Mission Society and was a Sunday School Teacher. She loved her precious Lord, husband, children, families and friends. Her home was known for hospitality in which she continued throughout her lifetime. Survivors include: one daughter Coreen (Curt) Niederbaumer, Brooklyn Park, MN; two granddaughters: Teresa (Dan) Blondo, Ellendale, ND; Jody (Dan) Mycka, Coon Rapids, MN; one grandson: Ryan Niederbaumer, Brooklyn Center, MN; five great-grandchildren: Dylan, Adam and Eric Blondo, Ellendale, ND, Lucas and Stella Mycka, Coon Rapids, MN; one niece: Ruby (Edward) Zvirovski, Fargo, ND; one nephew: Ellery Kundert, Fargo, ND; two cousins: Elnora Haupt, Bowdle, SD and Billie Lary, Attalla, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and daughter-in-law: Jerold & Linda Krause, sister and brother-in-law: Freeda & Woody Kundert and one brother: Jake Schick. The funeral is 2:30pm Tuesday, October 18 at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale with Pastor Glenn Raynor officiating. Visitation begins 10am Tuesday at Hoven Funeral Chapel continuing until the funeral service. Burial is at Ellendale City Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
