Viola Middlestead

Viola “Vi” Edna Middlestead, 88 of Ellendale, ND died September 15, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services, Aberdeen, SD. She was born January 14, 1927 to Adam and Carolina (Oberlander) Eberhart in Eureka, SD. She was united in marriage to Emil Middlestead on October 20, 1946 in Ellendale, ND. They made their home on a farm north of Fullerton, ND where they resided until 1968 when they moved to Ellendale. Vi worked at TBC for 12 years cooking and later worked at the Fireside Restaurant in Ellendale. God blessed her life to continue working until age 85. Vi loved her family. She dearly loved cooking, gardening and planting flowers. She enjoyed her search-word books and most of all she loved reading her Bible. Vi is survived by three children: Edwin (Kay) Middlestead of West Fargo, ND, Betty (Reuben) Nies of Ellendale, ND, Dale (Becky) Middlestead of Ellendale, ND; seven grandchildren: Scott (Lynne) Middlestead, Steve (Mindy) Middlestead, Jeramie (Janelle) Middlestead, Andrew (Allyson) Middlestead, Mike (Brenda) Nies, Sherry (Tim) William, Michelle Johnson; eight great grandchildren: Aaron, Mariah, Krista, Cole, Kadence, Karlie, Cade, Elliot; one sister: Lorraine Darling of Rapid City, SD; and one brother: Milt Eberhart of Colorado Springs, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Vernon; one daughter, Bonnie; son-in-law, Paul; six brothers and four sisters The funeral service is 10:30am Saturday, September 19th at New Life Assembly of God Church, Ellendale with Pastor Shawn Tayon officiating. Visitation is 3-8pm Friday with a prayer service at 6:30pm all at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Visitation continues one hour prior to church services. Burial is at Ellendale City Cemetery.
