Martha Wanttie

Martha Blanche (Gantner) Wanttie, 79 of Ellendale, ND, was born July 15, 1929, in Dayton, Ohio. She was the daughter of Clayton and Dorothy (Keller) Gantner. Martha was educated in the Dayton, Ohio Schools. She was employed with the City of Dayton and later at the University of Plano, TX. On December 17, 1949, Martha married Melvin Wanttie in Dayton. They resided in Dayton and Brookville, OH, Richardson, TX, Minneapolis, MN and most recently in Ellendale, ND. In March 2006 Martha moved to Prince of Peace Care Center where she resided until her death January 9, 2009. Martha enjoyed Reading, coin and stamp collecting and flower gardening. She was a member of Providence Lutheran Church, Brookville, OH and Eastern Star of Brookville. Grateful to have shared in her life is her husband: Melvin Wanttie of Ellendale, ND; one son: David Wanttie of Ellendale, ND; one daughter: Barbara (Robert) Peyton, Springfield, PA; one grandchild: Keith Peyton of Springfield, PA; one brother: Edward Gantner, Port Charlotte, FL and one sister: Marjorie (Gam) Garcia, Dayton, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Clayton Jr. and infant brother: Robert. A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at State Line Apostolic Lutheran Church with Pastor Reino Maunu officiating. Burial will be at North Savo Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery, rural Frederick, SD. The organist is Janet Maunu. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
