Catherine L. Geiss, 67, Ellendale, ND died May 1, 2015 at Alegent Health Hospice House, Omaha, NE. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30am Saturday, May 9 at St. Helena’s Catholic Church, Ellendale, with Father John F. Kizito officiating. Visitation: 4-8pm Friday with a prayer service at 7pm all at St. Helena’s Catholic Church. Visitation continues one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial: St. Helena’s Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. On May 1, 2015, Cathy Geiss of Ellendale, ND passed away after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. Catherine Lucille (Einerson) Geiss was born September 29th, 1947, in Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of William and Marjorie Einerson. She was raised in Lakota, ND where she met and married Dick Geiss on September 16th, 1967. They lived in Lakota for several years where their son Michael was born. Ellendale became their home in 1977, but they also enjoyed living in Stanley, Lisbon, and Fargo. Cathy was devoted to her husband Dick and their son Michael (Mick). She loved to garden and was an active member of St. Helena's Catholic Church. She was thoughtful, kind, cheerful and a great friend to many. Cathy had an amazing sense of humor and when she laughed one couldn't help but laugh with her. Cathy was a delight to family and friends and shall be greatly missed. All hearts are heavy but we are comforted by her enduring smile. Cathy was preceded in death by her father, husband, and nephew Eric. She will be deeply missed by her son Michael of Ellendale; mother Marjorie Einerson of Omaha, NE; brothers Donald (Linda) Einerson and Dr. William (Karyl) Einerson Jr.; sisters Jane (Jim) Delaney, Sally Markel, Marjorie (Dr. Peter) Reedy, Nancy (Andy) Anderson, Carol (Paul) Mount; brother-in- law Ronald Geiss; many nieces and nephews; great friends and Tucker her dog.
