Lucille B. Wallace

Lucille B. Wallace, 97 of Ellendale, ND died August 11, 2013 at Prince of Peace Care Center, Ellendale. She was born August 7, 1916 near Frederick, SD to William and Lucy (Rohloff) DeMarce. Lucille attended DeMarce grade schools and Frederick High School. After high school, she attended Remily’s Beauty School in Aberdeen and also worked at Remily’s Beauty Shop. Later she managed a beauty shop in Groton, SD. On June 1, 1941, she married Reese Wallace and moved to Ellendale where she worked at Moultan’s Beauty Shop before opening her own business, Lucille’s Beauty Shop. She had 65 years in that occupation before retiring due to a stroke. Lucille is survived by two sons: Mike Wallace of Ellendale, ND, Tim (Kris) Wallace of Alliance, NE; one daughter: Patricia (Charles) Ingraham of Binghamton, NY; seven grandchildren: Reese Wallace and Emily Wallace both of Nebraska, Joe Podoll, Dave Podoll, Mike Podoll all of Oklahoma, Erin Leff and Molly Ingraham of Washington; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Bill (Jackie) DeMarce of Aberdeen, SD. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Reese in November 1965, one daughter: Kathy December 2011; one son-in-law: Lee Podoll in December 2007; two brothers: Charles “Bud” DeMarce, George DeMarce and three sisters: Edith, Letha and Minnie. Services are 10:30am Friday, August 16 at St. Helena’s Catholic Church, Ellendale with Father John F. Kizito officiating. Visitation is 2-7pm Thursday with a prayer service at 5:30pm at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Visitation continues one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial is at St. Helena’s Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel.
