Ellie I. Peyton

Ellie I. Peyton, 95 of Ellendale, ND died January 9, 2013 at Good Samaritan Society, Oakes, ND. She was born to Einar and Inga (Vasvick) Strand on April 3, 1917 on the family farm near Ellendale, ND. Ellie was raised and educated in Ellendale. She graduated from State Normal and Industrial College, Ellendale with a teaching certificate. She taught country school and was also a beautician. Ellie was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Ellendale. She enjoyed going to the Ellendale Senior Center for her meals and playing cards, she also enjoyed painting and gardening. Survivors include: five grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister Evelyn Henderson of San Carlos, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Richard and Greg Peyton; one infant brother: Harvey Strand and three sisters: Helena Strand in infancy, Marjorie McShane and Nora Van Sickle. The funeral service is 1pm Saturday, January 12 at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale with Pastor Galen Sylvester officiating. The pianist is Katie Miller. Visitation is 11am to time of the service. Burial is at Ellendale City Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel.
