Floyd "Buzz" Mock

Floyd “Buzz” Mock, 90 of Leola, SD formerly of Forbes, ND died June 20, 2012 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen, SD. He was born May 19, 1922, in rural Forbes to Benjamin H. and Myrtle (Avery) Mock. Buzz was educated at country school and then began farming with his father. On April 29, 1939, Buzz married Wilma Jean “Toots” Fuher in Leola, SD. To this union, five children were born. Buzz continued farming with his father until the 1960’s when he purchased his parents farm. Buzz and Toots farmed together until her death in 1996. He resided on the farm until 2004 when he moved into Leola. Buzz was an avid horseman and enjoyed rodeos, nature, the hills and his children. Survivors include two sons: Richard Mock of Leola, SD, Joey (Terri) Mock, Kamrar, IA; one daughter: Cindy (Patrick) Turnwall, St. Johns, AZ, 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many grandchildren he "adopted" along the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother: Giles Dee; two sisters: Evelyn and Beatrice and two sons: Donald and Benjamin.
